Kamal Haasan meets Bloom Energy CEO Sridhar in US to discuss clean energy for TN

Looks like actor Kamal Haasan has a clear roadmap of what he wants to do if he is voted to power in the state.

Yes, the actor is now in the United States to meet a set of people from Tamil Nadu he considers to be key world influencers.

One of the first people he met there was Bloom Energy founder and CEO Dr KR Sridhar. Kamal is believed to have taken a tour of Bloom Energy's factory in Sunnyvale, California.

The meeting, sources say, was to discuss the prospect of providing clean energy solutions for Tamil Nadu. 

Dr Sridhar, who was the director of the Space Technologies Laboratory at the University of Arizona before leading a project to build a Mars oxygen production Cell, has done extensive research in producing power using oxygen and hydrogen. 

Dr Sridhar said, "It was a real pleasure to host Mr Kamal Haasan at Bloom Energy today. I enjoyed sharing with him our vision for electrification of India and the world. Mr Haasan urged me to consider powering remote areas in Tamil Nadu first. I am hopeful that the visit and the discussion will pave the path for such projects in the near future."

Haasan, for his part, said, "Glad I discovered Bloom Energy. Now that I have seen Bloom's vision, it gives me a vicarious pleasure of being a part of this endeavour. I see a future where Tamil Nadu could be Bloom's Champion customer. I would rather that Bloom and Dr Sridhar kindly consider Tamil Nadu as their sleeping partner that they can awaken for the world to see. It would make India and Tamil Nadu proud."
