The year of musical remixes is just starting. Keeping with the trend, Madhuri Dixit's iconic dance number 'Ek Do Teen' from Tezaab (1988) is set to be remade for the upcoming Tiger Shroff-starrer, Baaghi 2, and will feature Jacqueline Fernandez.
Originally composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, the song went on to become one of the biggest chartbuster of the 1990s, and catapulted Dixit to superstardom. The song also won Alka Yagnik the Best Playback Singer award, and Saroj Khan Best Choreography award at the Filmfare awards that year.
Directed by Sajid Nadiadwala, Baaghi 2 stars Disha Patani and Shroff in the lead. Fernandez will start shooting for the song today till Saturday, 11 February. Incidentally, the song will be choreographed by Ahmed Khan, who was Saroj Khan's assistant in several songs, including the iconic 'Choli Ke Peeche' from Khal Nayak (1993).
Tabloid Mumbai Mirror quoted the choreographer saying, "It's an all-time favourite and I have asked Ganesh to retain Saroj ji's famous hook steps and Manish Malhotra to keep Madhuri Dixit's pink outfit in mind while designing Jacqueline's costume. I want the same feel of the earlier song that still looms large on everyone's mind and also the same vibe, with the crowds chanting 'Mohini, Mohini' as Madhuri takes the stage."
Baaghi 2 will be released on 30 March.
