3 Storeys trailer: Gripping, intense, crisp, 3 Storeys has a mysterious tale

Fairy tales exist only in the imagination and in cinema. In real life, one has to often defy the odds to achieve whatever it is that one desires. But such defiance carries a great risk.

Director Arjun Mukerjee’s 3 Storeys is set in a three-storey structure called Mayanagar. There are two women looking to elope with their man. One woman (Richa Chadha) seems smitten by Pulkit Samrat’s character. On top of that we have diamonds stashed with Renuka Shahane’s character, who is the one who binds all the other characters together. Then someone is murdered, but who? Is the dead person related to Shahane's character?

The trailer really teases you as it gives nothing away about 3 Storeys. All we see is Sharman Joshi wanting to elope with the married Masumeh Makhija while newcomers Ankit Rathi and Aisha Ahmed’s love is mired in religious prejudices. Despite being bogged down by their miseries, the four young hearts dare to defy the odds and seek their destinies. What does fate have in store for them? 

The filmmakers deserve credit for the sharp, crisp, gripping and intense trailer. You are hooked on to it at the outset when the voiceover tells you to look at the faces carefully. The fast-moving visuals narrate the predicaments of the key players. Towards the end of the trailer, we see the image of a young Renuka Shahane. Perhaps the mystery begins in the past?
