Ajay Devgn is a hero without a uniform, cracking down on black money: Raid first look

After having played a robber carrying out a heist in Baadshaho (2017), Ajay Devgn seems to have turned over a new leaf. The actor is set to play a hero without a uniform in his next film, Raid. 

The first look of the film captures the intense look of the actor as he sits upon a pile of money and cash. Directed by Rajesh Kumar Gupta, the film will revolve around a man's singular pursuit of black money hoarders in the country. 

The poster reveals that Devgn will be playing Amay Patnaik, deputy commisioner of Income Tax in the Lucknow city.

The film seems to be set in Uttar Pradesh, and is again based on some real life incidents from the 1980s. Incidentally, Devgn played a robber during the Emergency era in Baadshaho (2017).

The tagline of the poster 'Heroes don't always come in uniform' makes it very clear that the outline of the plot will cover an honest officer's singular mission to destroy black money in the state. 

The trailer of the film is expected to be released later on Tuesday (6 February). 

Apart from Ajay Devgn, the film will also feature Ileana D'Cruz, Saurabh Shukla, and will have music composed by Amit Trivedi. 

Presented by Gulshan Kumar, Raid is a joint production by T-Series and Panorama Studios. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on 16 March.
