The release of Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary has been postponed yet again to 16 February, as the film has not recieved a clearance from the the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
Earlier it was to hit the screens on 9 February with Akshay Kumar's Pad Man.
“Aiyaary is not releasing on 9 February. It’s postponed to 16 February,” a source close to the producers told Cinestaan.com.
The film, starring Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra, was in the head lines for wrong reasons last week. Since the film is based on espionage in the Indian defense, the Defense Ministry reviewed the film and asked the makers to modify certain ‘objectionable’ portions, as some reports suggest.
Aiyaary's postponement means R Balki’s Pad Man will get a solo release this Friday (9 February).
The film, starring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte, was earlier supposed to clash with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat on 25 January. But on Bhansali's request its release was pushed to 9 February.
