The special screening of Pari, starring Anushka Sharma, has been cancelled, its makers announced.
The film was initially scheduled to be screened for a group of close friends on 28 February. However, in view of the condolence meet for actress Sridevi, the makers have decided to cancel the event.
Producer Prernaa Arora released a statement saying, "We are deeply shocked and heartbroken with the untimely demise of our beloved Indian legend, Sridevi. To honour her memory and the legacy she left behind, KriArj Entertainment has decided to cancel the screening of their upcoming film, Pari, which was earlier scheduled for the 28th of February."
The horror flick, also starring Parambrata Chatterjee and Rajat Kapoor, is scheduled to be released 2 March.
Sridevi passed away on 24 February in Dubai due to accidental drowning. The actress's mortal remains were only flown back on Tuesday (27 February) night, after the legal processes were completed by the Dubai Public Prosecution.
The family has organised a condolence meet at the Celebrations Club in Andheri, which will be followed by last rites at Pawan Hans crematorium in Juhu at around 3.30pm.
