The death certificate of the actress Sridevi, who passed away on 24 February, suggested that the cause of death was 'accidental drowning', as opposed to the initial reports of cardiac arrest. The news created a frenzy on the internet, and off it on Monday (26 February).
This led to several conspiracy theories and speculations that have only made matters worse. The Dubai police have not yet revealed any suspicion of foul play and the case has been handed over to the Dubai public prosecution, as the rule suggests in the event of an unnatural death.

Indian ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Navdeep Suri, took to Twitter to assure the actress's fans that the Indian consulate was working in tandem with the Dubai prosecution to help resolve the issues. Suri also warned media and fans not to 'speculate on the events'.
"The media interest in untimely demise of #Sridevi is understandable. But the frenzy of speculation does not help,' he tweeted.

Sridevi's mortal remains were expected to be brought back to India on Monday (26 February) following the post mortem. However, as a result of the new findings, the process has been delayed.
While there are reports of her husband and film producer, Boney Kapoor, being interrogated once again, new developments suggest them to be untrue. Khaleej Times, a daily from Dubai, reported that the producer was only called in to provide his testimony of the events.
For now, family and friends of the late actress have been gathering at the residence of actor Anil Kapoor, Boney Kapoor's brother. The remains of Sridevi will be brought back to the family residence, Bhagya, in Juhu, before proceeding to the Pawan Hans crematorium in Juhu.
