Filmmaker Birsa Dasgupta announces own production house East India Kompany


Following in the footsteps of Raj Chakraborty and Srijit Mukherji, Dasgupta also proposed to work with new talents in the films from his production house.

Filmmaker Birsa Dasgupta announced the launch of his own production house, East India Kompany, in partnership with his long time friend Shaket Banerjee on Thursday. Following in the footsteps of Raj Chakraborty and Srijit Mukherji, Dasgupta also proposed to work with new talents in the films from his production house.

"Together we intend to produce and create content for one and all," said Dasgupta. He also said that there will be no language bar in East India Kompany's productions.

Members from the film fraternity, including Prosenjit Chatterjee, Kaushik Ganguly and Anjan Dutta conveyed their best wishes to Dasgupta. Dasgupta stated that with the new venture, his responsibilities have increased manifold.

Dasgupta's upcoming film and his first production CrissCross is a story of five women, who, while having their individual struggles, cross each other's paths.

The script of the film has been penned by Mainak Bhaumik.

CrissCross features Mimi Chakraborty, Nusrat Jahan, Sohini Sarkar, Priyanka Sarkar, Vikram Chatterjee, Indrasish Roy and Gaurav Chakraborty in important roles.
