Plea filed in Delhi seeking to lodge FIR against Salman, Katrina for casteist remark

The actor reportedly passed a casteist joke during the promotions of his lastest film, Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) in December last year.

Former chairman of Delhi Commission for Karamcharis, Harnam Singh, has filed a plea at the Patiala House court in New Delhi seeking to lodge an FIR against Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif for allegedly for making cateist remark.

The actor reportedly passed a casteist joke during the promotions of his lastest film, Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) in December last year.

The plea was filed before additional sessions judge, Siddharth Sharma, and states that Khan has "committed atrocity" against members of the scheduled caste by making such a remark.

While the complaint marks Khan as the main culprit, actress Katrina Kaif is included in the plea too. According to the complaint, rather than protesting against the offensive and insensitive statement, Katrina joined Khan "in insulting and abusing the victim through her conduct."

The court has decided to hear the plea on 27 February, and has also sought a reply from the Delhi police.

The complaint was initially registered in December. However, since no FIR was filed, Singh registered the plea in the court.
