After overcoming all the odds stacked against it, Padmaavat has emerged successful. Now, the team is set to celebrate the success on 24 February, which also happens to be the birthday of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
While the members from the cast and crew are expected to attend the bash, Shahid Kapoor will give it a miss due to other commitments. During the filming, there were rumours that Kapoor was not friendly enough with his Padmaavat co-stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. His absence has fuelled speculation that all is still not well between the actors.
However, Kapoor’s publicist has denied such rumours and stated that the actor had long planned a visit to Beas in Amritsar. Kapoor will join his wife Mira Rajput and daughter Misha in Delhi soon and then head to Beas in Amritsar for a satsang (devotional programme).
“It’s Shahid's birthday on 25th February. He is a Radha Soami. This family trip was planned well in advance,” said the actor’s publicists.
Kapoor has taken a break from the shoot of Batti Gul Meter Chalu (2018) and is expected to resume work soon. Despite not releasing in few states, Padmaavat has made a business of over Rs264 crore nett in India alone.
