In Anushka Sharma's footsteps: Now, Nargis Fakhri cast as lead in horror flick Amavas

Actress Anushka Sharma’s horror flick Pari is all set to hit the theatres on 2 March. It is a rare horror flick starring a top actress in the lead. But before the Prosit Roy directorial is released, news is out about Nargis Fakhri playing a lead in a horror film titled, Amavas.
The film is directed by Bhushan Patel, who has earlier made horror films like 1920: Evil Returns (2012), Ragini MMS 2 (2014) and Alone (2015). Sachiin Joshi is Fakhri's co-star in the film.
Amavas is currently being shot in London. According to an official statement shared by the makers, the film will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule for about 35 days. They also shared a picture from the shoot where Patel, Fakhri and Joshi are seen.
The film is like a comeback for the actress. Her last film Banjo had released in 2016. This is also the first time she will be seen in a lead role.
The phenomena of amavas is the dark phase of the moon when it is not visible. The period is considered inauspicious as per Hindu tradition.
Amavas will be released later this year.
