Arijit Singh does full justice to Devendra Kafir’s lyrics, while Saqib Saleem and Taapsee Pannu's melodrama makes you cringe.

There is joy even in sadness. That is why we have ballads and nostalgic songs to remind us of bittersweet memories. Devendra Kafir has penned one such song in 'Bandeya' which was released by the makers of Dil Juunglee (2018) today.
The simple poetry triggers a sense of nostalgia as the protagonists reminisce about the good and bad times. The neat lyrics are backed by an endearing, sombre score by Toshi and Shaarib. Arijit Singh is the modern day master of ballads and he gives another delightful performance. Few singers can emote the actors' situation as immaculately as Singh. 'Bandeya' ticks all the boxes — lyrics, singing and music.
However, the lone problem is the cringeworthy melodrama of Saqib Saleem. It makes him look like a cry baby. Taapsee Pannu, too, is guilty of melodrama.
'Bandeya' is a track that you can listen to on loop, but the visuals used from the film make it hard to watch this song twice.
Dil Juunglee will be released on 9 March.
