Actor Kamal Haasan today finally announced the name of his new party. It will be called Makkal Needhi Maiam.
The actor-filmmaker also unfurled his party flag, which has a series of white and red hands holding each other with a star in the centre on a white background.
The actor, who arrived at the Madurai Othakadai venue at around 7:30 pm along with Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejiriwal by car, soon took the stage and unfurled the party flag to loud cheers from a huge crowd that had gathered there.
Then he announced the party's name, Makkal Needhi Maiam, which in English means People's Justice Centre.
The actor then told his fans and the assembled people that this was not a one-day celebration and they will have a lot of responsibilities from now on.
