The much-awaited trailer of Baaghi 2 was launched today. Expectedly, the film promises better action, but what hooks you is the newfound aggressive persona of Tiger Shroff. He has bulked up for the role, and his intense tone takes you by surprise. It is almost as if Shroff has shed his good boy image to play a mean looking, intense Rambo-like macho man.
Disha Patani is among the many new additions to the Baaghi franchise. The plot surrounds the kidnapping of Neha’s (Disha Patani) little sister Shriya. Patani is all over the place with her dialogue delivery.
The big burly Ronnie (Shroff) is now an army guy and the ‘one man army’ who can help Neha.
When you hear dialogues like, 'Jo yeh tera torture hai, woh mera warm up hai', you know what’s coming your way. The trailer is laced with over-the-top action and punchy dialogues, is one for the masses.
The trailer throws up a few surprises with the likes of Manoj Bajpayee, Randeep Hooda, and Prateik Babbar — all three new additions to the Baaghi franchise. The trio appears to be playing intriguing characters in this story.
While Prateik plays an addict, there’s a sinister look to Bajpayee and the bearded Hooda, who all seem to have grey shades. There is also Deepak Dobriyal and Darshan Kumar in the supporting cast.
The identity of the main villain has been kept under wraps. You hear an intimidating voice say, 'Iss ladai mein uska kuch nahi bigdega, par tumhara kuch bachega hi nahi'. This could well be the voice of the main villain.
The trailer smacks of melodrama, but Shroff fans will be pleased to see the actor unleash the beast in him.
Baaghi 2 is the official remake of Telugu film Kshanam (2016) starring Adivi Sesh and Adah Sharma. "Although we have not been credited for the story, Baaghi 2 is the official remake of Kshanam," Kshanam director Ravikanth Perepu confirmed to Cinestaan.com.
The trailer has its flaws, but it would be hard to ignore it, especially if you are a Shroff fan. Baaghi 2 will hit the theatres on 30 March.
