Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi to be released on 24 August

After the success of Happy Bhag Jayegi (2016), the makers announced its sequel, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, last year. Now Eros International, the producer of the film, has announced it will be released on 24 August.

The first film, Happy Bhag Jayegi, revolved around Diana Penty's Happy, who runs away from her own marriage. The second film, however, will have two characters named Happy. One will be played by Penty and the other by Sonakshi Sinha. The story and the plot of the film have been kept under wraps so far.

Eros International shared the title video of the film on their official Twitter handle, writing, “Happy 1 Happy 2? Yes, is baar 2-2 hain aur donon ki donon bhagti hain ya nahin [Yes, this time there are 2. Do both of them run away?]…Find out on 24th August! #HappyPhirrBhagJayegi @sonakshisinha @dianapenty @ErosNow @cypplOfficial.”

Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the first film also starred Abhay Deol, Ali Fazal, Jimmy Shergill and Piyush Mishra. According to reports, these actors will also be seen in the second film. However, no official announcement has been made on the same.

At the box office, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi will clash with Anil Sharma’s Genius, which launches his son Utkarsh Sharma.
