Tamil Nadu is a day away from a major political change. Since the beginning of the last year, Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth have been teasing fans over their decision to enter politics.
Haasan has proved to be the fast mover and is set to announce the name and emblem of his political party tomorrow (21 February). Among the many guests to the event will be Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party president, Arvind Kejriwal.
Kejriwal met with Haasan in September 2017 during the actor's initial forays into the political grounds. While Haasan maintained that it was a courtesy visit, many considered it to be an important sign for Haasan's political career.
Hindustan Times, a daily, has reported that sources close to the Delhi chief minister have confirmed that he will be present when Haasan will launch the party in Ramanathapuram on Wednesday.
The actor is also planning to begin a tour of the state post the party's launch.
Haasan has been on whirlwind tour of meetings since the last week. The actor met up with former Tamil Nadu chief minister, and leader of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), M Karunanidhi, and another actor-turned-politican, Vijayakanth on Monday (19 February).
Haasan's entry into the political arena will be followed by another star, Rajinikanth, who plans to start his own political outfit later in the year.
