Kangana and Rajkummar to team up for Ekta Kapoor's psychological thriller

To be directed by Tamil filmmaker Prakash Kovelamudi, the film is set to go on floors in March this year.

Still from Queen (2014)

Rajkummar Rao and Kangana Ranaut might have gone different ways after Vikas Bahl's Queen (2014), but they are set to collaborate again for Ekta Kapoor's upcoming thriller, to be directed by Tamil filmmaker Prakash Kovelamudi.

Rajkummar enjoyed a prolific year in 2017 with films like Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's Bareilly Ki Barfi, Amit Masurkar's Newton and  Vikramaditya Motwane's Trapped. Ranaut meanwhile had a mixed year with Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon, and is currently shooting for Krish's Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

Mumbai Mirror, a tabloid, quoted a source as saying, "It’s a fast-paced thriller revolving around the two protagonists. Set in London and Mumbai, it is expected to roll in March. Raj (Rajkummar Rao) recently heard the script and immediately came on board. Both Kangana and he are looking forward to working with each other once again."

While Ranaut is busy with Manikarnika, Rajkummar is currently shooting for two projects. He is part of Amar Kaushik's Stree, a horror comedy with Shraddha Kapoor, and will later join the cast of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, starring father-daughter duo, Anil and Sonam Kapoor.

The yet untitled film is written by Kanika Dhillon who is also part of Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyan, and has previously worked on films like Heroine (2012) and Ra One (2011).

The film is set to go on floors in March this year.
