Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu share an emotional, romantic world: October teaser

Director Shoojit Sircar's Valentine’s Day gift to his fans is a glimpse of his upcoming film October. The filmmaker shared a teaser video titled World Of October.

The film has Varun Dhawan and newcomer Banita Sandhu in the lead roles. 

Dhawan has become the go-to actor for commercial films with mass appeal. After debuting with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year (2012), he worked in a number of films including, Main Tera Hero (2014), Dishoom (2016), ABCD 2 (2015), Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) and Judwaa 2 (2017). The only time Dhawan moved away from his favourite romantic-comedy genre was with Sriram Raghavan’s Badlapur (2015). 

Going by the teaser, it is clear that October is different from the kind of films Dhawan has been doing. The soft background music and the picturesque visuals suggest that the film is an emotional journey of love. The teaser, however, only shows the lead couple's faces from the side. 

Sircar’s last directorial Piku (2015), starring Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan, was well appreciated by critics and audiences alike. 

October will be released on 13 April.
