Director Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath suffered a big blow yesterday as the film’s producers KriArj Entertainment walked out of the project over differences with the director.
Kapoor was unavailable for comment despite Cinestaan.com’s efforts to reach him. However, the director came up with a cryptic tweet that seems to say he is unfazed by the controversy.
KriArj Entertainment pulls out of Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath
While wishing his followers on the occasion of Mahashivratri, he shared a picture of Lord Shiva and Lord Hanuman and wrote, “Man in the mirror. Yeh shaam apne boss ke naam. Have a great #MahaShivaratri everyone #kedarnath #jaibholenath #omnamhshivay #HarHarMahadev.”
We wonder if Kapoor saying, ‘Yeh shaam apne boss ke naam’ is a reference to the producers walking out of the project even as the controversy rages on.
While speaking to us yesterday, a source close to the development listed various reasons for producer Prernaa Arora’s KriArj Entertainment walking out of the project. These include Kapoor being unprepared, going over-budget and interfering not only in the financial deals of the film, but also the release date.
Starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Kedarnath marks the debut of Sara Ali Khan, who is the daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh.
