The plaudits have not stopped coming in for Aditi Rao Hydari for her performance as Mehrunnissa in Padmaavat (2018). However, the actor has no intention of resting on her laurels and has already signed on for another challenge. The actress will join her Kaatru Veliyidai (2016) director, Mani Ratnam, as part of his upcoming bilingual multi-starrer film.
The actress made her debut in Tamil cinema, opposite Karthi, in Ratnam's 2016 romantic drama. The director has since announced his next project, a bilingual multi-starrer which includes a long list of stars. The film will reportedly star Vijay Sethupathi and R Madhavan, as well as actresses Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh and Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil. Actor Silambarasan is also reported to be a part of the film.
In addition to the actors, the film will also have music composed by AR Rahman, and Santosh Sivan returning to collaborating with Ratnam post a long hiatus. It will mark Sivan's sixth such collaboration with the director.
Firstpost.com quoted a source saying, "Aditi is indeed part of the project. It’s been a while since she signed the film and she is most likely to meet the team in mid-February to get a better understanding of her character and get ready to commence shoot from March."
Apart from the yet untitled film, Hydari will also be seen in Sudhir Mishra's Daas Dev, where she plays the role of Paro in the modern take of Sarat Chandra Chatterjee's iconic novel, Devdas.
