Soham Chakraborty and Rittika Sen have paired up for Rabi Kinagi’s upcoming film Miss Call. A romantic love story, Miss Call also features Shantilal Mukherjee, Supriya Dutta, Reshmi Sen, Swagata Basu, among others.
The romance between the protagonists Krishna (Chakraborty) and Leela (Sen) takes off with a missed call by the latter. Krishna, a pool car driver, is the sole bread earner of his family, while his father spends his days drinking away. He gets married to bubbly and lively Leela; however, their marriage only adds to Krishna's burdens and he starts working overtime to earn more money. Hence, the plot takes a serious note as crisis begins to hit the reality of Krishna and Leela’s dream world.
“I was doing only comedy films with Rabi ji. For the first time, I am doing a full-fledged emotional family-drama and I am liking it a lot. I love the story and the character as well,” stated Chakraborty, who is often seen to be playing characters from lower-middle income groups. “I think I can get into the skin of such characters and hence, directors choose me for such roles. I love playing such characters too. I feel I can easily reach the audience through such characters,” added the actor.
“I have done a lot of films with Rabi ji but after Jio Pagla (2017), this is the first time I am featuring as the lead actress in his film. All of Rabiji’s films have different flavours and I love all of them. My character in this film is of a simple and bubbly college girl. She and Krishna become friends on a missed call, then fall in love and get married. One has to watch the film to know the culmination of the pair’s chemistry,” stated Sen.
The music of the film has been composed by Savvy Gupta. Murali Y Krishna is shooting the film in various locations of Kolkata. According to the producers, Surinder Films, the film will tentatively be released in January 2019.
