Parineeti Chopra shares memories from Priyanka-Nick wedding

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s wedding capped off an exciting year for weddings in the Hindi film industry. Priyanka was the fourth actress this year to tie the knot after Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Neha Dhupia and Deepika Padukone.

The actress’s nuptials to American singer-actor Jonas were highly anticipated to say the least and the details emerging from the big wedding weekend show that the event was one epic, fun-filled celebration.

Chopra’s cousin, actress Parineeti, has been sharing her memories of the mehendi and sangeet ceremony online. Parineeti was one of the 12 bridesmaids of the wedding party. Other bridesmaids included Arpita Khan Sharma (Salman Khan’s younger sister), Isha Ambani, Anjula Acharia and Tamanna Dutta.

But before the couple were married by Nick’s father on 1 December, the families celebrated in colourful mehendi and sangeet ceremonies. Parineeti welcomed her 'Nick jiju', who has promised to keep her cousin happy and comfortable all his life, to the family. She wrote, "I'm so so happy that Jonas and Chopra family are now united!!!"

For the sangeet, the families were divided into team bride and groom. The Chopras rehearsed and performed the love story of Priyanka (who they call Mimi) and Nick through songs, scenes and skits. They were ready to beat the Jonas family outright.

"But when the ladka wallas came on stage, they stumped. They had been rehearsing for a long time. They sang and danced LIVE, including lip syncing Hindi songs!!! We should have known. All of this - but the spirit of competition was overpowered with love, happiness, laughs, whistles, cheering and noise!!!" Parineeti revealed. Eventually though, the families shared the trophy.

Another important detail wedding fans were hoping to find out about was how much Jonas paid to get back his shoes from his sisters-in-law. At their August engagement, Parineeti had already hinted she would be asking for a high price to return the shoes.

She tweeted an update saying she was 'still reeling' from the outcome. "All I can say is - you’re wrong!!!!! Haha. Nick was MORE THAN CRAZY HUGELY MADLY GENEROUS! No words. Still reeling. Phew. ❤️ He shocked us. Whatta playa!!!," she wrote, borrowing a phrase from actor Anil Kapoor.
