For the second time in four days, veteran actress Saira Banu has pleaded with prime minister Narendra Modi for a meeting with her and her husband, the legendary actor Dilip Kumar.

Saira Banu has accused builder Samir Bhojwani of issuing threats to them after being released on bail currently. Bhojwani was arrested earlier this year for forging documents to claim ownership of the bungalow.

Taking to Dilip Kumar’s Twitter handle, she begged the prime minister for help, saying, “Request from Saira Banu Khan: To the honourable Shri Narendra Modi. Awaiting for appointment. I am tired of repeated assurances from CM Devendra Fadnavis. Sir, you are the last hope of protecting Dilip Saheb’s only house from Land Mafia Samir Bhojwani. I beg.”

Saira Banu had written a similar appeal on 16 December on Twitter: “Request from Saira Banu Khan: The Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Sir, Land Mafia Samir Bhojwani released from jail. No action taken despite assurances by CM Devendra Fadnavis. Padma Vibhushit betrayed, threatened by money and muscle power. Request meeting with you in Mumbai.”

Following this, Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had assured the veteran film couple that he would have a meeting with them. He had told the Press Trust of India news agency, “I will speak to them and sort out the issue.”

But despite the assurance by the chief minister, Saira Banu went ahead and wrote another emotional appeal to the prime minister.
