Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika has a dialogue that’s been heard in Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro before

The trailer of actress Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi was launched yesterday. It was fairly impressive and had more appeal than the poor teaser that came earlier. Now, it seems she has used a dialogue in the film [as seen in the trailer] which sounds like the one used in her public adversary Hrithik Roshan film Mohenjo Daro (2016).

This coincidence was pointed out by Happy Phir Bhag Jayegi (2018) director Mudassar Aziz, who posted a tweet.

“A dialogue in #Manikarnika's trailer is the exact same as what was in #Mohenjodaro (trailer & film)! Never a nice feeling  “Farq yeh hai ki tujhe raj karna hai aur mujhe seva!” (t Hope it’s a coincidence & so it’s never too late to correct it! Please [sic].” tweeted Aziz.

The dialogue is uttered by Manikarnika in the end of the trailer, whereas in Mohenjo Daro, Sarman (Hrithik) says it to the antagonist Maham (Kabir Bedi).

It translates to ‘the only difference is that you want to rule, while I want to serve the people’.  

Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairman Prasoon Joshi has written the dialogues for Manikarnika, while Preeti Mangain had written the dialogues for Mohenjo Daro.

Manikarnika producer Kamal Jain dismissed it as a mere co-incidence.

"No one has a copyright on dialogue. It is a common dialogue, and the similarity is just a coincidence. Everybody wants to take mileage, attaching their name to a film as big as Manikarnika," Jain told tabloid Mumbai Mirror.

For the record, Aziz has no connection with Mohenjo Daro, and seemed to just want the Manikarnika makers to change the dialogue.

The said dialogue is common, but Ranaut would hardly appreciate the space where it has been used earlier — nemesis Hrithik's film.

Some social media users saw the lighter side of the fiasco.

"When you miss your ex so much that you pick-up words from his vocabulary," tweeted BollywoodGandu.

Hrithik-starrer Super 30 is slated to be released on 25 January 2019 and it will compete with Manikarnika.
