Box office: Kedarnath collects Rs11.50 crore nett in the second weekend

Director Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath is going steady at the box office.
The love story, starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan, made a decent Rs11.50 crore nett in its second weekend, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com. The film had made Rs27.75 crore nett in the opening weekend. So, as compared to the opening weekend, Kedarnath has seen a drop of over 55% in its second weekend business.

Kedarnath made Rs2.50 crore nett on its second Friday, before collecting Rs3.75 crore nett and Rs5.35 nett in the weekend. The film has so far made Rs53.50 crore nett in its India business.
Made at an estimated budget of Rs60 crore, the RSVP production was released in more than 1,850 screens in India.
Kedarnath is a love story between a Hindu Brahmin girl Mukku (Khan) and a Muslim porter Mansoor (Rajput) set in the backdrop of the Kedarnath floods.
Meanwhile, holdover release 2.0 (Hindi) slowed down as it collected Rs6 crore nett in its third weekend.
The film, starring Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth, has so bagged Rs181 crore nett from the dubbed Hindi version.
Directed by S Shankar and produced by Lyca Productions, the Tamil film was released in 7,500 screens in India (4,000 screens in Hindi belt). The film has been made at a huge budget of Rs543 crore.

Two Hollywood superhero flicks were released last Friday. DC universe’s Aquaman was the preferred film for Indian moviegoers as it bagged Rs24 crore nett in its opening weekend. The box office includes Rs2 crore collected from the paid previews. Aquaman was released in 800 screens in India.
The animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse had a poor opening weekend, collecting Rs3.80 crore nett.
