Veteran filmmaker Tulsi Ramsay passes away at 75 

Tulsi had helmed marquee horror films likes Purana Mandir (1984) and Veerana (1988).

Veteran filmmaker Tulsi Ramsay passed away after suffering a heart attack early this morning at his residence in Mumbai. He was 75. The funeral is expected to take place today (14 December). 

Trade analyst Atul Mohan announced the sad news on Twitter. 

The Ramsay Brothers are considered as the pioneers of the horror genre in Hindi cinema.

Tulsi had helmed marquee horror films like Guest House (1980), Purana Mandira (1984), Tahkhana (1986), Veerana (1988), and Purani Haveli (1989). He had also directed The ZEE Horror Show, one of the first horror shows on Indian television. The other Ramsay brothers are Kumar, Keshu, Kiran, Shyam, Gangu and Arjun.
