Actress Hansika Motwani, who made her acting debut in a lead role at the age of 16 in Allu Arjun’s Desamuduru (2007), on Monday revealed the first look of her 50th film Maha, in which she plays a character with multiple shades, according to debutant director Jameel.
Two posters were released and while Motwani is seen in the get up of a Sadhu against the backdrop of Benaras; she’s seen donning multiple avatars in the second poster.
Tipped to be a woman-centric thriller featuring Motwani in the titular role, the film also stars Karunakaran and Thambi Ramaiah in crucial roles.
Talking about the film, Jameel said in a statement: “Her decision to elevate herself to heroine based films will justify the rich talent she possesses. Hansika plays a very challenging role that has multiple shades. The mirror image which went viral yesterday actually says, "The objects in the mirror are not what exactly what you see....It differs”. Motwani’s character is built on this concept.”
Maha has music by Ghibran and this happens to be his 25th film. A predominant portion of the film will be shot in the ECR stretch in Chennai and Madurai. The makers also plan to shoot some scenes in a European country.
Last seen on screen in Prabhudeva’s Gulebaghavali this year, Motwani also awaits the release of Tamil films Thuppakki Munai and 100. She recently signed a Telugu comedy film with Sundeep Kishan.
