Atul Manjrekar's Fanney Khan earned only Rs75 lakh on its first Monday (6 August), as per figures shared by Boxofficeindia.com. The film, starring Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao, had registered low opening numbers and has been largely getting negative reviews.

The earnings of the film have dropped substantially as the film had made Rs1.90 crore on its opening day (Friday, 3 August). Fanney Khan has so far earned a total of Rs7.50 crore. As per trade sources, the film is made at an estimated budget of Rs35 crore.

Akarsh Khurana's Karwaan and Anubhav Sinha's Mulk, the other two releases of the week, haven’t fared well either, but managed to do better than Fanney Khan. The former made Rs1.05 crore and the latter earned Rs1.15 crore, respectively, at the box office yesterday (6 August). While Karwaan has earned a total of Rs8.85 crore so far, Mulk has managed a sum of Rs7.95 crore. The estimated budget of both films is Rs18 crore each.

Both films need to hold well during the week and a jump in the second weekend might further help them get even. However, with Reema Kagti's Gold, starring Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy, and Milap Zaveri's Satyameva Jayate, starring John Abraham, Manoj Bajpayee and Aisha Sharma, hitting the screens on Independence Day (Wednesday, 15 August), it seems Karwaan and Milk will have tough competition going forward.
