Tripathi joined the rest of the cast, who were already filming for the feature in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, over the weekend. Incidentally, Aaryan hails from Gwalior.
The film brings Sanon and Aaryan together for the first time. Tripathi played Sanon's father in the crowd-pleaser Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017).
The actor told the tabloid Mumbai Mirror about his different, vibrant role in the film, "My character is a man with a different sense of humour and whenever the story gets too complicated, he has some contribution to make. So far, the audience has only seen me playing simple, sober and desi characters. This time you will see me wearing colourful clothes and I even have highlights in my hair."
Luka Chuppi, produced by Maddock Films, is planned for release in March 2019.
