Priyanka Chopra says goodbye to Alex Parrish and Quantico

The final episode of the ABC series aired on 3 August 2018.

One chapter closes, another begins. Actress Priyanka Chopra’s American television series, Quantico, aired its final episode on ABC on 3 August 2018. Chopra became the first South Asian to headline a television series in the US with the role of Alex Parrish, a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent. The drama lasted three seasons.

The first season of Quantico began in September 2015 and focused on the lives of FBI recruits as they trained in the Quantico academy in Virginia. The third season began this April but the series was cancelled by the network in May.

Chopra took to social media to thank the fans of the show for their support.

She talked about the character of Parrish and what it meant for the landscape of American television, saying, “Bringing Alex to life has challenged me physically and emotionally, but even more significant it has (I hope) cracked the door open for female talent and women of color to play leading ladies.”

She went on to thank the team of Quantico for their support. “Thank you for opening your homes and hearts to me every week! Thank you to the cast and crew of #Quantico for being such an amazing team to work with, for all the memories that I will cherish...memories of laughter, of learning new things, of making friends for life. It was a pleasure working with each and every one of you, and I look forward to crossing paths again!”

Chopra won two People's Choice Awards for her role as Alex Parrish, one for Favorite Actress in a New TV Series in 2016 and another for Favorite Dramatic TV Actress in 2017.

She is returning to films with two features – pre-production has already begun on Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink (2019) starring Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim, and she will join actor Chris Pratt on Universal Studios’ big-budget film Cowboy Ninja Viking (2019).
