Ishqeria, starring Neil Nitin Mukesh and Richa Chadha, has been in the making for a long time and is now nearing its release.
The trailer of the film shows that it is just another love story. The film marks the debut of Prerna Wadhawan as writer and director.
The film is about Raghav (Neil) and Kuhu (Chadha) who meet in college and fall in love. Some issues crop up between them and another man (Manish Anand) enters Kuhu’s life. We are also shown an instance where Raghav decides to divorce Kuhu.
It is important for love stories to move you or make you feel for the protagonists. The same goes for the trailer since the promos are what people see to decide if they would be interested in watching the film.
But the trailer of Ishqeria does not make you root for the protagonists. Somehow the soul seems to be missing and the sequences don’t seem natural. The trailer has editing issues as well. There is an absence of flow and an overdose of jump cuts. Neil and Chadha do not look convincing as college students.
Funnily, the words ‘A film by Prerna Wadhawan’ appear thrice in a span of 10 seconds in the end. Well, we noticed it the first time, miss.
