Tigmanshu Dhulia's Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3, starring Sanjay Dutt, Jimmy Sheirgill, Chitrangda Singh and Mahie Gill, film could only make Rs7.60 crore nett in its first week at the box office, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com.
Made at an estimated budget of Rs30 crore, the film had released across 1,000 screens in India.
The other Hindi release last week was Jayesh Pradhan's Nawabzaade that bombed at the box office bagging just Rs3.35 crore nett.
Hollywood's Mission: Imossible – Fallout earned an impressive Rs53.75 crore nett in its first week. The film, starring Tom Cruise, released across 800 screens in India.
Going forward, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 and Nawabzaade are unlikely to make any progress at the box office. Mission: Impossible – Fallout, too, faces a task with three noted Hindi films hitting the screens today (3 August) — Anubhav Sinha’s Mulk, Atul Manjrekar's Fanney Khan and Akarsh Khurana's Karwaan.
Meanwhile, Shashank Khaitan's Dhadak made Rs17.25 crore nett in its second week at the box office. The film has made a total of Rs68.50 crore nett so far. Dhadak marked the debut of the Sridievi's daughter Janhvi Kapoor.
Dhadak has surpassed Karan Johar's Student Of The Year (2012) that earned Rs62.94 crore. The film had launched the careers of director Mahesh Bhatt's daughter Alia, and David Dhawan's son Varun. Student Of The Year had released across 1,350 screens as opposed to Dhadak's 2,235 screens.
