Abhishek Kapoor, wife Pragya Yadav welcome second son, Shamsher

Before the release of his next film, Kedarnath (2018), which launches actor Saif Ali Khan's daughter Sara Ali Khan, Abhishek Kapoor is celebrating the birth of his son, Shamsher. The filmmaker's second child was born in the early hours of 28 August.

Kapoor shared the good news on Instagram with an adorable video of big brother Isana, who will turn two this November, stating he has to go pick up his brother.

"With the blessings of lord Shiva, In the wee hours of this morning, my jaan @pragyadav has bought another bundle of joy in to our lives. At 3.38 am today, 28 of August 2018, #isana ka bhaiya aa gaya [Isana's brother has arrived]. #jaibholenath Both mother and son are doing fine and resting. It's gonna be a mad house with a lot more [heart emoji] to go around," Kapoor wrote.

The actor-turned-filmmaker received congratulations from the industry folk - from Sussanne Khan to Shekhar Kapur to Mukesh Chhabra. Kapoor's former co-star Twinkle Khanna commented with a kissing heart emoji, "Congratulations! Gattu ji - what wonderful news".

In another emotional post on Instagram, Kapoor reflected on another chapter of his film, the release of his second film, Rock On!! (2008) which "went on to succeed like no other that year and won 2 National Awards". The film saved his career, as he wrote, "I had finally got my head out of the water and could breathe."

The filmmaker also revealed why he and Pragya decided to name their newborn Shamsher as he "entered this world carried the same confidence his mother has.. like a lion.. infact he is a 1st amongst lions."

Kedarnath, starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan, is due to be released on 30 November.
