Working together on acclaimed international productions from the Oscar-nominated Slumdog Millionaire (2008), Miral (2010) and Million Dollar Arm (2014) to Lion (2017), composer AR Rahman is back to collaborate with Tabrez Noorani on his directorial debut, Love Sonia (2018). The Oscar winner has collaborated with British singer-songwriter Bishop Briggs for a special song called, 'I Am More', written by Rianjali.

Briggs shared the news on Twitter and stated why she felt the film let out an important message and she was beyond honoured to be a part of the project. “This is more than a film; it’s a movement, a conversation and an opening into what’s actually happening in the world today,” the singer said.

Music maestro Rahman echoed Briggs's enthusiasm for the film. “Projects like this film happen with good intentions propel positive change in society. It was a pleasure working with Tabrez, producer David Womark and the talented Bishop Briggs,” he told Mumbai Mirror, a tabloid.

Set in India, Hong Kong and the US, Love Sonia (2018) follows Mrunal Thakur as a young woman who joins the global sex trade to find and rescue her young sister Preeti (Riya Sisodia). The film's ensemble cast is an impressive list of acting talent from Manoj Bajpayee, Richa Chadha, Rajkummar Rao, Anupam Kher, Adil Hussain, Freida Pinto, Sai Tamhankar, Demi Moore and Mark Duplass. Both Thakur and Sisodia are making their acting debuts in the film.

Love Sonia, produced by David Womark and Tabrez Noorani, is due to be released on 14 September.
