Choreographer Saroj Khan has played a pivotal role in Madhuri Dixit Nene's career and success. Some of the iconic songs featuring Dixit Nene were choreographed by Khan. The two have together given us memorable dance numbers like 'Ek Do Teen' from Tezaab (1988), 'Dhak Dhak' from Beta (1992) and 'Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai' from Khal Nayak (1993).
Age might have slowed her down but Khan has jumped up at the chance of working with the actress again. Khan is reportedly teamming up with Remo D'Souza to choreograph a mujra for Dixit Nene for a song in Dharma Productions' Kalank, to be directed by Abhishek Varman.
The veteran choreographer reunites with Dixit Nene after four years. The duo had last worked together on Soumik Sen's Gulaab Gang (2014). Diixt Nene last performed a mujra in Abhishek Chaubey’s Dedh Ishqiya (2014) that was choreographed by Birju Maharaj and Remo D’Souza.
Dixit Nene and Khan started rehearsing for the new song four days ago. "Yes, we started work on the mujra four days ago. I’m doing the choreography with Remo looking into the technical aspects. The idea is to create another memorable number that will remind people of our previous songs. People have forgotten pure Indian songs, it’s important to revive them. The song will be shot over three days, 5-7 September,” Khan said in a statement.
Kalank, a period film, also features Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt. The film is scheduled to be released in 2019.
