Uncle Sanjay Kapoor to play Sonam's father in The Zoya Factor

Anees Bazmee's Mubarakan (2017) had brought the veteran actor Anil Kapoor and his nephew Arjun Kapoor together.

Anil Kapoor will also be sharing screen space with his daughter Sonam Kapoor Ahuja in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (2019).

Now, uncle Sanjay Kapoor is set play father to Sonam K Ahuja in Abhishek Sharma's The Zoya Factor.

Sanjay Kapoor confirmed the news to an entertainment supplement.

The actor revealed that the producer, Red Chillies Entertainment, asked him if he was interested in the film. This was followed by a discussion with director Sharma. Kapoor gave his nod after he was convinced by the script. 

Incidentally, this is the first time the youngest of the three brothers Boney, Anil and Sanjay will be appearing on screen with any member of the family.

"It’s an exciting opportunity for me to work with Sonam," Sanjay Kapoor said. "We have started the reading sessions, and I can’t wait to commence the shoot,” he told the Bombay Times supplement of The Times of India newspaper.

"We are a close-knit family and Sonam has grown up in front of my eyes. She is like my daughter, and there’s nothing better than working with your own family."

Sanjay Kapoor was last seen in the anthology Lust Stories (2018), where he was a part of the story helmed by Dibakar Banerjee.

The Zoya Factor is based on Anuja Chauhan’s book of the same name. The film stars Sonam K Ahuja and Dulquer Salmaan.
