Veteran Odia actor Debu Bose passed away yesterday (22 August) in Hyderabad. The 75-year-old was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city since the past four months. Bose had earlier suffered two cardiac arrests.
In a four-decade long career that began in the 1970s, Bose has acted in more than 130 films. Bose was most known for playing the role of a father. He was a part of a number of successful Odia films like Samaya Kheluchi Chaka Bhaunri (2002), Ki Heba Sua Posile (1991), Pua Mora Kala Thakura (1998) and Phula Chandana (1982). His last release was Apna Haath Jagannath (2015). He was also seen in some Bengali films
Apart from being an actor, Bose was also a dancer and a choreographer. He had trained under renowned Odissi dancer Kelucharan Mohapatra. The actor was also active in theatre and had directed a number of plays for his theatre group Diganta.
