All news circulating about Dostana 2 is untrue: Karan Johar

Filmmaker Karan Johar has reacted to the speculation on the sequel of Dostana (2008), and dimissed all of it as baseless.

For years now, there has been speculation over the sequel to the comedy. Director Tarun Mansukhani was tipped to return with the sequel, and entertainment portal Bollywood Hungama had recently reported that Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor were fiinalised as the lead pair.

“Hello! All news circulating about Dostana 2 is untrue. Lots of speculation which is entirely baseless,” tweeted Johar.

The original had Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham in the leading roles. The film revolved around the story of Sam (Bachchan) and Kunal (John), who fake being a gay couple in order to share the rented apartment of Neha Melwani (Chopra) in New York.

Dharma Productions is gearing up for a couple of big projects — Kalank and the period drama Takht, that will be helmed by Johar himself.
