Reema Kagti's Gold and Milap Zaveri's Satyameva Jayate have finished their extended first weekend on a good note. While Gold, starring Akshay Kumar, made Rs15.25 crore, Satyameva Jayate, starring John Abraham, earned Rs9.75 crore, on Sunday (19 August) , as per figures shared by Boxofficeindia.com.

Satyameva Jayate earned Rs7.25 crore on Saturday (18 August), Rs25 lakh less than what it earned on Thursday (Rs7.5 crore) and Friday (Rs7.5 crore). The film is made at an estimated budget of Rs50 crore and it has so far earned a total of Rs50.5 crore at the box office. If the film manages to continue its hold in the week starting today, it should turn out to be a decent success at the box office.

Gold has so far made a sum of Rs70.50 crore at the domestic box office. Although this number is good, the high budget of the film — Rs85 crore — might hinder its success. It is vital for the film to keep up with the earnings during the week as well.

The good news for both films is that no big Hind film is being released this Friday (24 August).
