Actress-producer Priyanka Chopra and American singer-actor Nick Jonas got engaged in a small intimate ceremony at Priyanka's Mumbai home on 18 August and later partied with their friends and family, organized by the Shaadi Squad, the same wedding planners hired by actress Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli for their Italian wedding last December.

The night was attended by Priyanka's close friends Arpita Khan Sharma, Mushtaq Shiekh, Anusha Dandekar and other members of the film industry from actress Alia Bhatt, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur, directors Vishal Bhardwaj, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Siddharth Anand, and actor Ayush Sharma. Industrialist Mukesh Ambani, his wife Nita and daughter Isha also stopped by the bash.

Nick's parents, Kevin Sr and Denise, posed with their daughter-in-law to be and her family - Priyanka's mother Madhu Chopra.

Priyanka's cousin, actress Parineeti Chopra, shared a sweet photograph of herself with her new brother-in-law.

The guests had a beautiful three-tiered engagement cake by Tier Nom Patisserie. The 15kg cake was decorated in buttercream, 24k gold leaf, and highlighted by pink cymbidium orchids, hydrangeas and berries.

The couple danced to tunes by DJ Khushi who played a mixture of American hip-hop and Hindi numbers. Of course, a few of Priyanka's hits like ‘Gallan Goodiyaan’ from Dil Dhadakne Do (2015) also made the cut.

DJ Khushi told the tabloid Mid-Day about the gig, "I was given a mandate of keeping the mood energetic and breezy. My set started with a lot of deep house towards the early evening followed some of pop, hip-hop and R&B, and then as the night progressed...Bollywood." He also said that Nick is "more Indian than American" and the couple's sense of music was quite similar.

After a whirlwind day on the 18th, the couple kept it simple on 19 August. They headed to Andheri's St. Catherine's Orphanage where the couple spent time with the staff and children who reside there. Nick shared an emotional video from their visit.

Nick and his parents left late Sunday (19 August) night to return back to the US. Priyanka is back shooting for her Hindi feature, The Sky Is Pink, directed by Shonali Bose.
