Condolence messages and tributes have been pouring in for former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who died on Thursday aged 93.
There were some messages that went beyond a tweet, like the note written by Shah Rukh Khan. One such came from singer Lata Mangeshkar, who shared an old song. What is special about the song is that it was written by Vajpayee.

‘Kya Khoya Kya Paya’ is the same poem that the late ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh had brought out as a single. Interestingly, that song was picturized on Shah Rukh Khan under the direction of the late filmmaker Yash Chopra with an introduction by Amitabh Bachchan.
Mangeshkar hasn’t gone with the same tune.
She had also shared a video of another poem written by Vajpayee, ‘Than Gayi Maut Se’. This and 'Kya Khoya Kya Paya' both revolve around life and death and this might be why the music legend shared them.
