After working with son Abhishek Bachchan on Manmarziyaan (2019) and father Amitabh Bachchan on Pink (2016) and the upcoming thriller Badla (2019), actress Taapsee Pannu can reflect on how similar, yet different they are.
According to Pannu, "Bachchan Sir and Abhishek have a very different approach to acting, although their mannerisms, posture, body language and baritone are quite similar."
In Anurag Kashyap's intense love story, Manmarziyaan, which is due to premiere at Toronto International Film Festival this September, the actress is cast opposite Abhishek. Pannu's character, the fiery Rumi, loves Vicky (Vicky Kaushal) but instead ends marrying Robbie (Abhishek Bachchan).
"I still remember I had texted Sir [Amitabh Bachchan] once when I saw Abhishek sitting exactly like him, in the same posture. I just couldn’t help myself, it was that uncanny!" the actress went on to say.
Pannu and Amitabh first worked together in the National Award-winning drama Pink (2016) where Amitabh played a retired lawyer who comes forward to help Minal (Pannu) and her friends clear their names. They were recently cast together in Sujoy Ghosh's thriller Badla (2019) which finished its first schedule in Scotland, UK.
