The hard-hitting film on the global trade of sex trafficking, Love Sonia, is finally getting an Indian release on 14 September 2018. The independent film, directed by Tabrez Noorani, stars Mrunal Thakur and Riya Sisodiya as sisters living in a small village. Tragically, they get themselves entrapped in sex trade and try to escape their brutal life.

Besides Thakur and Sisodiya, the impressive cast also includes Manoj Bajpayee, Richa Chadha, Freida Pinto, Rajkummar Rao, Anupam Kher, Adil Hussain, Sai Tamhankar, and child actor Sunny Pawar. Hollywood artistes Demi Moore and Mark Duplass are also part of the film.
July-December preview: Films to look out for in second half of 2018
Based on true events, the film has been set in India, Hong Kong and Los Angeles. Love Sonia had its world premiere at the Bagri Foundation's London Indian Film Festival on 21 June.
Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyaan, Nitin Kakkar's Mitron, Vishal Mishra's Hotel Milan are also due to be released on 14 September alongside Love Sonia.
