Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota trailer: Abhimanyu Dassani is a likeable hero in this unique action film

Using an old video recorder and a VHS tape of Geraftaar (1985), the refreshing trailer for Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota introduces us to the likeable hero of the story, Surya (Abhimanyu Dassani), whose goal it is to vanquish all the muggers in his city.
Since he was a little child, Surya has dreamed of taking on an alter-ego as a crime fighting vigilante. He has been diagnosed with a congenital insensitivity to pain, and therefore he is the man who feels no pain.
Dassani, son of actress Bhagyashree, seems like a relatable hero as he goes about his mission to fight foes wherever he can.
The trailer also has brief glimpses of the rest of the cast — Mahesh Manjrekar as a supporting grandfather, Radhika Madan as a badass vigilante of her own and possibly his childhood friend, and Gulshan Devaiah as a bad man.
This action film, written and directed by Vasan Bala, is doused with clever amounts of self-deprecating humour and a heady bit of nostalgia. The idea of introducing the English subtitles via a VHS tape is smart, indeed.
Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota will have its world premiere at the Midnight Madness section at the Toronto International Film Festival.
