The demise of India’s former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has saddened the nation. He breathed his last today at Delhi’s AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) at around 5:05 pm at the age of 93. His condition had deteriorated in the last 36 hours as he was put onto life support.
Vajpayee’s mortal remains would be taken today at his residence in the city today. It will be kept for final respects at BJP’s (Bharatiya Janata Party) headquarters from 10 am onwards tomorrow. The final rites would take place at 5 pm at Vijay Ghat. The government of India has declared seven day mourning period.
Naturally, condolence messages started pouring in from all over the country and outside on social media ever since the news was broken, including people from the film fraternity.
Some of these include, Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra, S S Rajamouli, Boman Irani, Rana Daggubati, Huma Qureshi, Vivek Oberoi, Arjun Kapoor, Vir Das, etc. India’s legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar also paid his respects through a tweet.
