Kashyap's short Toffee (2017) was about the friendship between two young girls, Tanya and Ritu in 1990s Jalandhar, Punjab. The semi-autobiographical short premiered last year at the Half Ticket: The Hand Of Friendship section at the 19th Mumbai Film Festival. She shared that she had been working on her script for a long time and was still waiting for the cast to fall into place.
Dreams do come true. Delighted to open my innings as a director on a script that’s very dear to me. It's been a long journey of patience & waiting.
