Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan will make a cameo appearance in the Kajol-starrer Helicopter Eela.

The actor has done quite a few cameos or guest appearances in his career, the most recent being in the Kareena Kapoor Khan- and Arjun Kapoor-starrer Ki & Ka (2016). Like in that film, Bachchan will not be playing a fictional character in Helicopter Eela either.

“Helicopter Eela, directed by Pradeep Sarkar, will feature Mr Bachchan in a cameo and the actor will be seen playing himself,” said an official statement by the makers.

Helicopter Eela song 'Mumma Ki Parchai': Kajol’s shadow looms large over Riddhi Sen

Before Helicopter Eela, Bachchan and Kajol have been seen together in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), where the latter played his daughter-in-law.

The two later played themselves in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om (2007), where they made appearances in the title song which featured a host of Hind film stars.

Helicopter Eela is Bachchan’s second association with Sarkar. The actor was the narrator who does the voiceover at the beginning and the end of the filmmaker’s directorial debut Parineeta (2005), which starred Vidya Balan, Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt.

Helicopter Eela also stars Riddhi Sen, Neha Dhupia and Tota Roy Chowdhury. Produced by Ajay Devgn and Jayantilal Gada of Pen Movies, the film will be released on 7 September.
