The trailer of Arindam Bhattacharya’s upcoming horror-thriller Flat No. 609 is out. The film features Abir Chatterjee, Tanushree Chakraborty, Rudranil Ghosh, Mamata Shankar and Soumitra Chatterjee in important roles.

The director’s debut film Antarleen (2016), also a thriller, earned mixed reviews. This time, the trailer appears scary enough to pull the audience towards the film.

Abir Chatterjee and Tanushree Chakraborty play a couple who are shifting into a newly bought luxury apartment, presumably flat number 609. While Abir's character resumes his job as an IT professional, homemaker Chakraborty experiences uncanny incidents at the new apartment. She tries to get along with the neighbours, an elderly couple (Mamata Shankar and Soumitra Chatterjee), to find out the secrets and the history of her seemingly haunted house.

Shankar’s character also appears to be quite eerie as she refuses to divulge any details of what had happened in the flat even though she says she is aware of it.

Meanwhile, Rudranil Ghosh, the broker of the flat, brushes aside Chakraborty's concerns saying every flat has a past.

The supernatural occurrences in the house consumes Chakraborty and brings her to the verge of insanity, or is she possessed by a spirit?

The trailer offers thrilling moments, some of which are spine-chilling, while some are clichéd. Chakraborty seems quite natural as the horror struck victim and Shankar’s character generates intrigue as well.

Flat No. 609 is slated to be released on 31 August.
