Actor Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam (2013) was a well-shot film with perfect production values. It looks like Vishwaroopam 2, the second film in the series, can also boast of the same. The recently released song ‘Ishq Kiya Toh’ gives a glimpse into the film.

The song revolves around the passing out parade of army officers, who are jubilant and excited. One of them is Andrea Jeremiah, who plays the female lead in the film. She is reprising her role from the first film.

The little details of the ceremony, including the band performance, releasing of gas balloons and throwing the officers in the air jubilantly, seem to be inspired by reality. The training of the officers, which happens in the latter part of the song, is also convincing.

It is interesting how these scenes are woven in a romantic song. The track speaks about the unspoken love between Haasan and Andrea's characters.

Unfortunately, the song isn't impressive and some words aren’t audible clearly. But this is because it’s the Hindi dubbed version of the song. Many a times, the audio of the song loses its charm if it is dubbed, especially from a south Indian language to Hindi.

It becomes a big challenge for the lyricist (Prasoon Joshi, in this case) to match the words that also appear in sync with the music. Mohamaad Ghibran’s music and Sathyaprakash and Andrea's singing are passable.

Vishwaroopam 2 will be released on 10 August.
