Khan was found guilty of killing blackbucks in the 1998 case, on Thursday (5 April), by a court in Jodhpur. He was awarded a jail sentence of five years. But the rest of the accused — Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam Kothari — were acquitted due to lack of evidence.
Khan's lawyer appealed for a bail and the judgment for the same in the Jodhpur sessions court was supposed to be pronounced on the next day. But it was postponed to Saturday (7 April), on which he was eventually granted bail on a surety of Rs50,000. He returned to Mumbai the same day.
His upcoming film is Race 3, which is scheduled to be released during the Eid period on 15 June.
